HONEY HALLOUMI

INGREDIENTS 

  • 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 3 tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp chilli flakes (or more if you want it hotter)
  • 2 sprigs fresh thyme
  • 1/2 grind of lemon
  • 1/2 juice of lemon

QUICK VERSION: 

  • 2 tbsp chilli honey (I love the Capilino brand) 
  • Lemon juice to serve 

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Slice up your halloumi 

  2. Combine all sauce ingredients in a container

  3. Add halloumi and cover with the sauce as much as possible.

  4. Shake if needed

  5. Heat a pan and fry the halloumi on one side until golden.

  6. Flip the halloumi pour the rest of the sauce over and cook until golden and caramelised.

QUICK VERSION:

  1. Chop and fry your halloumi and drizzle with your chilli honey 

NOTES:

You can store it in an airtight container in the fridge. 

*I marinate my halloumi overnight for the strongest flavour but you can leave for an hour or follow a quick version
