1/2 brown onion

1 block firm tofu

Sauce:
2 tbsp hot chilli honey (or maple syrup for complete bland based option but would need to add chilli)
2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
2 tbsp soy sauce or teriyaki sauce
1tbsp rice wine vinegar
1 tbsp tomato paste
1 tbsp minced garlic
1t tbsp minced ginger

 

INSTRUCTIONS:

INGREDIENTS 

  1. Whisk all of the sauce ingredients in a bowl and set aside

  2. In a large pan fry  the onion with 1 tbsp of the sauce.

  3. Once slightly caramelised add in the tofu and slightly brown on both sides.

  4. Pour the sauce over the tofu and turn down the heat.

  5. Let the tofu simmer and caramelise on both sides.

Serve with rice and your choice of veggies

Cook time: 20 minutes

*I use the Capilino brand chilli honey

The measurements and ingredients can easily altered to suit your own taste.

I love serving mine with either raw veggies for a sushi bowl OR stir fried veggies for more of a comfort meal
